As the trade body representing banks, building societies and specialists responsible for some 95% of the UK’s domestic mortgage lending, the CML plays a pivotal role within the housing finance sector. Established for twenty five years, we have earned a reputation for being a highly influential body working with lenders, regulators, government departments and a range of other stakeholder groups to promote sustainable housing finance in the UK.
We are looking to recruit a first-class, senior policy professional who will oversee our representation on a range of policy issues, supported by a team of five senior policy advisers.
You will work with our Director General as well as high-level representatives from member organisations to shape our policy agenda and ensure its effective delivery. You will be part of the CML’s leadership team, setting organisational targets and delivering on them So you will have both a strategic and operational role to play. You won’t be surprised that for such a pivotal role in such a high profile organisation, we’re looking for a really exceptional candidate who can combine strong influencing and stakeholder management skills with leadership flair and intellectual rigour. You will also be an excellent communicator: confident and compelling when speaking in public; clear and succinct when writing. You will have experience of leading a small but highly professional team.
The salary offered will be dependent on your experience and sector knowledge. In addition we offer generous benefits including a discretionary bonus scheme, private medical cover, contributory pension, and generous holiday entitlement.
