Mortgage regulation - Financial Services Authority (FSA) effectiveness review of MCOB

Background to the review

Shortly after the MCOB rules came into effect on 31 October 2004, the FSA announced that it intended to conduct a review of their effectiveness. The review began at the end of 2005.  The results of the first stage were published on 27 September 2006 and the results of the second stage were published on 31 March 2008. Results of consumer research into the experience of consumers who have been in arrears were published on 5 August 2008.
