Mortgage interest direct (MID) and support for mortgage interest

Mortgage holders claiming income support for mortgage interest (ISMI) must apply to have interest payments paid directly to their mortgage provider under the mortgage interest direct (MID) scheme. 

To participate in this scheme, lenders register with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and are assigned a unique code which is added to a qualifying lenders register (QLR).
