On 28 September 2006 the Financial Services Authority (FSA) published a discussion paper DP06/4: The responsibilities of providers and distributors for the fair treatment of customers. The paper sets out the regulator's view of the respective regulatory responsibilities of providers and distributors to treat customers fairly. We submitted our response on 2 January 2007. On 16 July 2007 the FSA published a Policy Statement 07/11 summarising the feedback to the responses received to DP06/4. PS 07/11also incorporates a Regulatory Guide to firms which sets out the FSA's view on what the combination of Principles for Businesses and detailed rules require respectively of product providers and distributorsin the contetx of treating customers fairly.
