Climate change

12 March 2010 | The departments for Enrgery and Climate Change (DECC) and Communities and Local Government (CLG) have jointly published 'Warm Homes, Greener Homes: A Strategy for Household Energy Management', which sets out how the government plans to achieve household energy reduction targets. This page has been updated for members with high-level view of the pay-as-you-save (PAYS) plan that will enable homeowners to obtain eco-upgrades through a loan attached to the property.

Contaminated Land

17 August 2009 | This sets out lenders' current position on contaminated land.

Housing Corporation (delegation) etc Act 2006

3 November 2009 | This paper provides a brief overview of the Act, which received Royal Assent in July 2006 and came into effect immediately. The Act addresses problems caused by the Housing Corporation incorrectly granting consents to registered social landlords.

Low-cost home-ownership

3 February 2010 | Updated to include details of the new shared ownership leases to be implemented by 6 April 2010. The new leases give lenders additional protection and are an improvement on the existing house and flat shared ownership leases.

14 May 2009 | This page provides an up to date account of social housing sector issues in Wales. It highlights issues relevant to lending for the housing association sector there.

Tenancy deposit protection

1 December 2009 | This provides an overview of the schemes for tenancy deposit protection introduced on 6 April 2007.
