CML appoints new acting chairman
Richard Brown is the new acting chairman of the CML, following the departure of the previous chairman, Steven Crawshaw from Bradford & Bingley plc, on health grounds. He was previously one of the deputy chairmen of the CML.
Richard is managing director, Bank of Ireland Personal Lending. He graduated from Bath University in 1985 with a degree in economics and joined Bristol & West in 1992. Since then, he has held a variety of operational roles, including head of professional investments, head of central mortgage services, and director of lending. Richard has been in his current position since 2001, where he is responsible for Bristol & West Mortgages and Bank of Ireland Mortgages, as well motor finance and personal loan operations.
The CML’s executive committee will be invited to confirm Richard as chairman for the rest of this year at its next meeting in July.
