Since 2007, the FSA has made important changes to the way it regulates. We support those reforms, and its ongoing mortgage market review. But the next steps are crucial. Further changes must be targeted at causes of consumer detriment. And the FSA must implement the right measures, not to rush through reforms quickly.

Lenders accept that 'unauthorised' tenants deserve better protection. So, we support the aim of a bill being rushed through Parliament before the general election. It's important, however, not to implement a 'rogue's charter' for tenants - and add unnecessarily to borrowers' costs.
