Mortgage arrears and possessions conference
9 February 2010
Location: MANCHESTER
Conference time: 0845hrs - 1700hrs
Background:
What lessons have been learned by government, lenders and the wider housing community when dealing with a continuing rise in arrears and possessions? With lower interest rates allowing some borrowers to maintain repayments what will happen in 2010 when interest rates will inevitably rise? Have the 1000s of households currently taking advantage of government support simply put off the inevitable? Will the rise in unemployment begin to have an affect on the housing market?
Or has 2009 been a perfect year to bed in changes in processes and procedures within lenders and to allow government initiatives to develop to offer long term support?
No matter your differing view in 2010, regulators, borrowers and the media will again focus on how lenders are treating their customers who are in financial difficulties. This programme is developed to help lenders learn from the past and be in a sound position for further challenges.
