UK Finance represents around 300 firms in the UK providing credit, banking, markets and payment-related services. The new organisation takes on most of the activities previously carried out by the Asset Based Finance Association, the British Bankers’ Association, the Council of Mortgage Lenders, Financial Fraud Action UK, Payments UK and the UK Cards Association. Proportion of income needed for home-mover mortgages in Scotland lower than anywhere else in the UK

Home movers in Scotland in the second quarter of 2010 needed to use less of their income to cover their mortgage interest than anywhere else in the UK. The proportion fell to 9.3, the lowest share since 1996 anywhere in the UK.
