From 1st July the Council of Mortgage Lenders is integrated into a new trade association, UK Finance. For the time being, all UKF mortgage information will continue to be published on this website, and UKF member-only mortgage information will only be available here.

UK Finance represents around 300 firms in the UK providing credit, banking, markets and payment-related services. The new organisation takes on most of the activities previously carried out by the Asset Based Finance Association, the British Bankers’ Association, the Council of Mortgage Lenders, Financial Fraud Action UK, Payments UK and the UK Cards Association. Please go to for wider content and updates from UK Finance.

One of our core activities on behalf of our members is to represent lenders’ collective views on matters of common interest.

With this in mind, we monitor the work of the Westminster Parliament and the devolved administrations, responding to consultations and lobbying on key issues as and when necessary. Week in Westminster is our regular weekly round-up of relevant parliamentary business. And the highlights from the most recent Budget statements are below.

We also keep parliamentarians up to date on the key issues for the mortgage lending industry in a variety of ways. Our parliamentary newsletter, Housing finance at a glance, is distributed quarterly - the latest issue was sent out in April 2017.

Following the devolved elections in May 2016, we distributed short briefing papers on the mortgage market for the newly elected members of the London Assembly, Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly, and the Northern Ireland Assembly.
